| Our regular drill this month was Air Bag Operations. The drill was taught by Roadway Rescue ( www.roadwayrescue.com ) and was held in the parking lot of the Firehouse.
The instructors first went over the air bags, their uses in lifting, and the components used to inflate. They demonstrated how to properly connect the hoses and gauges. The FF's were then shown the proper way to build cribbing and stabilization.
After the lecture and demonstrations, the FF's from District 11 and 9 were split into groups. The first group was shown how to stabilize and lift a vehicle that sits high from the ground (trucks). The second group worked on stabilizing and lifting a compact car.
We would like to thank Roadway Rescue for another successful and informative training session. We have been training with them for the last ten years and recommend them for all MVX and related training. |
