| A couple weeks ago we were approached by local businessman and friend of the department Dilup Mehta. He told us about a house in our fire district that he will be demolishing in order to accommodate the patrons of his newly constucted banquet hall. Mr. Mehta offered this house to us to train in before it was knocked down.
We held two training sessions on Truck Company Operation, including building construction, wall breaching, roof ventilation, and forcible entry. One session was held at 0900hrs this past Thursday and another training session was held tonight at 1900hrs. This type of training is essential for our men. They get to perform firefighting duties in a "real" house, not a training structure, in a non-pressure situation.
We would like to thank Mr. Mehta for providing this house to us and for all of his help throughout the year. |
