Route 27 Vehicle Fire

At 07:59 on January 4th, District #11 responded to Route 27 near the Garden State Parkway North for a reported vehicle fire. Upon arrival the vehicle was fully involved all occupants were out of the vehicle. Chief Ryan Malheiro established command and utilized the Enforcer Foam Unit to start extinguishing the fire. Upon Engine11-1's arrival, the crew deployed a 1-3/4" hose line. When Engine 11-3 arrived at the scene, they deployed their Enforcer Foam System to contain the flowing gasoline what was burning. County Hazmat assisted with containing the spill from the ruptured gas tank flowing down RT 27. DOT assisted with traffic control. Crews quickly knocked down the fire. a tow truck removed the vehicle off the roadway. There were no reported injuries.
