At approx 1330 hours (1:30 P.M.) Dist 11 was toned out for the report of an unknown type of fire at 1556 Oak Tree Rd. Upon arrival, Chief Malheiro, 11-0-1 reported that he had heavy smoke coming from the roof and had dispatch transmit a first alarm response for our mutual aid companies. Upon arrival of our first due units, Ladder 11 was raised to the roof and crews from Engine 11-1 went interior after establishing a water supply. Arriving mutual aid units also went directly to work doing searches, cutting the roof & removing the windows to get the smoke and heat out of the building followed by salvage and over haul.
A quick knock down was made by all.
All residents were out of the house and safely across the street. Despite the high heat and humidity, no Firefighters were injured. All crews were rotated and sent to the rehab tent to be checked out due to the heat.
We at Iselin Dist 11 would like THANK our responding mutual aid companies and all of the other organizations that responded.
